Hi, I'm Mirella, a recently qualified Civil and Structural Engineering Draftsperson based in Perth, Western Australia, with a strong interest in civil and structural design, technical documentation and the built environment.
Originally from Africa, I moved to Australia three years ago with the ambition of creating new opportunities and building a future in a field that genuinely interests me. My professional journey has taken a few different paths, giving me a broad range of experience, a strong work ethic and an appreciation for the importance of precision, communication and attention to detail.
Before transitioning into engineering, I completed advanced studies in beauty therapy and spent several years working within the medical aesthetics industry. These experiences allowed me to develop valuable skills in client relationships, organization, problem-solving and working in professional environments where accuracy, responsibility and trust are essential.
Having since completed my Advanced Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering at North Metropolitan TAFE, I am now focused on building my career in the drafting and engineering industry. Through my studies, I have developed practical experience in AutoCAD and Revit, structural steel design, reinforced concrete design, hydraulic and drainage design, and the preparation of technical drawings and documentation.
I approach new challenges with enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn. I value being part of a collaborative team, take pride in producing accurate and considered work, and am motivated to continue developing my technical abilities while contributing positively to the projects I am involved in.
I see this next chapter as an opportunity to combine my previous professional experience with my passion for continual learning and growth, and building a meaningful career in the industry.
